Obituary of Ray Marie Sayers

Ray Marie Sayers passed away on October 4, 2022.

Ray was born and raised in New York City.  She majored in Fashion Design at NYU and worked in the Garment District. She designed and made beautiful clothes.

Everyone that knew her remembers how well and elegantly she dressed. She was glamorous!  She loved parties and loved to dance. Ray knew how to give a beautiful party. She took great pride in her home and her garden, loved to cook and was a truly creative person.

Ray and Henry loved to sail and spent many years cruising Long Island Sound. Henry passed away too soon.  Ray lost the love of her life but was strong and independent.  She was fearless (the only time she felt fear was when someone else was driving). She traveled extensively to Europe, Asia and Africa with friends and all

over the United States. She loved her friends and family. She could tell a good joke, had great timing and animation. She loved to argue about politics. She was a member of the Larchmont Yacht Club, The Garden Club of Larchmont, The Beech Twig and Sts. John and Paul.  She lived all of her 103 years with passion.

Ray is survived by her daughter, Marguerite Bopp, her son in law, Walter Bopp, her grandchildren Clytie, Zoe and Zachary and her great grandson, Beckett Henry.

She will be missed by all.

Visiting Tuesday morning 10:00AM until 12:00PM at John J. Fox Funeral Home, Inc. 2080 Boston Post Road Larchmont, NY 10538.  Graveside service to follow at 1:00PM at Pelham Cemetery King Street (City Island) Bronx, NY
