Dr. Henry Weinstein was one of the brightest lights of my psychiatry residency at NYU-Bellevue, where I was Chief Resident. He was a teacher, mentor, supervisor and especially an inspiration. I'll never forget the year I spent on the Forensic Ward at Bellevue, under Dr. Weinstein's tutelage. Now, when people ask me why I became a forensic psychiatrist/expert witness, I always start by telling them about Dr. Weinstein's influence. He also influenced my love of psychoanalytic psychotherapy, which I continue to practice today. I can still see his wry smile and hear his laughter. These were the golden years of psychiatry. I wish we had more Dr. Henry Weinstein's today. May he rest in peace.
