Obituary of Erik Ross Volper

Erik Volper was born on June 22, 1980. Beloved son of Hillary and the late Ron Volper, brother of Mandy and brother-in-law of Sandy Krohn, loving and devoted uncle to Ryan and Juliette. Erik’s life ended tragically and abruptly due to an unknown heart issue on April 21, 2022. He was running on a treadmill and collapsed.

Erik had a natural gift for connecting to children and adolescents. He leveraged this strength as an adult by pursuing a career as a psychotherapist.  Erik worked as a counselor for teens and adults for the last 12 years, helping them manage a myriad of challenges, always from a stance of compassion and non-judgement. In his free time, he volunteered with different organizations that mentor at-risk youth in Austin, Texas, where he moved in 2015. Erik loved animals and was a gifted and passionate soccer player. He will be remembered for his natural athletic abilities and passion for the game, his sense of commitment to his family, and his love for his nieces.

The funeral will be held at Larchmont Temple on Wednesday, April 27 at 11 am. Graveside interment at Mt. Eden will be private.  The family will sit Shiva on Wednesday evening in Larchmont Temple's Garden Room, from 7 to 8:30 pm, with Shiva Memorial at 7:30 pm.
