Coach Dillon was a humble gracious man who was a mentor to me as a college golf coach and as a person. He loved all his children equally and was an ambassador for MGA golf and Fordham golf. A good person who will be missed.

My deepest and sincerest heartfelt condolences go to Mary Ellen and the entire Dillon family.
My dearest friend Paul, you will be greatly missed. Paul was an extraordinary man who led an extraordinarily humble life. Always passionate about his family, friends, colleagues, golf, painting, and of course, helping others. Paul has been my mentor and dear friend for 40 years and has never led me wrong.
I’ve always admired how “big“ Paul’s life became as he loved every minute of it. I am honored to have known Paul and so lucky to have watched his life grow so “big”. Always my inspiration.
You have a “big” special place in my heart always, peace and Godspeed

My sincere sympathy to Mary Ellen and the family. I have had the privilege of knowing Paul and Mary Ellen as a neighbors and friends for over 30 years. Paul kept in touch with me usually about how his family was doing but also reaching out to me to get help for so many less fortunate people then us. He helped in getting me elected to the Mamaroneck Town Council and the NY State Assembly. In those positions I was able to help individuals he brought to may attention. That was Paul to the core, always looking out for ways to be of service to many who needed help. When I become a judge he would tell me of young people in trouble and ask if I could be of some assistance with advice or recommendations. His Family always came first telling me how proud he was of them all, but he never forgot the less fortunate. I will miss his wonderful personality and friendship. Judge John Perone

Oh Paul. Save me a spot in line at the 1st tee in Heaven. I ran the Fellowship Open, for 18 years twice a year. Paul would play, and bring about 15 men with him. He picked my brain about starting up another outing, Hense the Half Way House Open. One great story..... I hit a tee shot on a long par five at Winged Foot, loving how far I hit the Ball, and Paul said:" that is a terriblr shot, two fairways over". I had no straight hits that day. Love you Paul. No More Pain......... Bill Donovan, Midlothian, Virginia

The Mr. Dillon I knew was kind, gentle and funny. He was always concerned about others and was passionate about golf and his charitable causes. Whether he was coaching, painting, watching a game or spending time with his family, he was intensely involved in what he did. He was quick with a story and a chuckle and was generous with compliments and displays of affection. Mr. Dillon was proud of his family and of his Fordham kids too, and humble about his accomplishments. He squeezed every last drop out of life. I will really miss this great gentleman.

My sincere and heartfelt condolences to the entire Dillon family.
I am so honored to have spent several years with Paul as he shared his stories with me, stories of family and faith, struggle and resilience, and all revealing his deep sense of integrity and compassion.
I am so blessed to have experienced his big heart, to witness him creating a painting, to walk around a golf course with him, and to get to know your beautiful family - what mattered most to him.
He will continue to inspire many to reach for higher versions of themselves.

I first met Paul Dillon when I was 17 years old. I was going out with his younger sister Pat Dillon. Paul being left with the responsibility of being the man of the family since his father died when he was 17 didn't take to well to me since I was a school drop out and a Jazz Drummer. He was concerned about his sister and I was concerned about Paul, he frightened the hell out of me!
Many years later I reconnected with his sister Pat, who was at that time a widow. Pat and I became good friends. This time I met the adult accomplished Paul Dillon. A man who raised 6 fantastic children who married wonderful women who all became part of the Dillon entourage! It was to me a family of loving people definitely inspired by their father and wonderful mother Maryellen. As time went on I got to mix with the family members on certain occasions and Paul kept inviting me to family celebrations for Thanksgiving and other functions. I came to marvel at what he had accomplished as a father, husband, brother, artist, coach and one who spent his life helping other people with their demons and fears. I came to admire this man, I came to admire and love his family. He was and ever will be their rock. I will miss him

Paul was very dear to my heart and a great friend of my two sisters Nell & Nora. For the last 35 years I have kept this photo on my desk of my first round of golf at Winged Foot with Paul and Joe McOwen. I'd like to say I collected a couple of bucks from Paul that day but he was just too good. Joe however paid me $5.00!
All my love to the Dillion family. Until we meet again Paul... rest in peace my friend!

My sincerest condolences to the entire family. Paul and Mary Ellen used to welcome all the kids in at Halloween, to which my girls loved the attention given to them.
