From 1973 through 1977 I worked for All State Carpet. I talked daily with our different accounts. Even though Ernest Treganowan was our largest account, John was my favorite person to talk with. He was so nice, friendly and patient. He treated me like a friend and I looked forward to talking with him. I remember everyone at Treganowan, Jim Ward, Harry Jaffe, all nice people, but John was special. I want to wish the best to all of John's family and friends.

I met Mr. Treganowan in the 1970s when I was a child; my Dad, Hancin Marchand, worked for the family business as the Shipping Clerk. He was very kind man and he left a profound effect on me; I considered him a role model and a true leader. Please accept our condolences, from our family to yours. - Carl Marchand

Thank you so much for your kind words! The day I received this post from you is the same day my sister sent me the final copy of dad's celebration of life invitation. Not five minutes later I got your message from the the site. I am so happy that dad's kindness had left an effect on so many. We miss him terribly and your words made my day.

I knew the Treganowan family for about 50 years. I met John and Ginger through his brother, Chips, and his wife Mary Lou who was a good friend in Boston. John’s sister became a close friend when I lived in NJ for 2 1/2 years. John was a funny, caring person and a real family man. As I lived in Boston, I didn’t see John and Ginger that often, but always enjoyed family gatherings. I am so sorry he lost his fight with cancer and my thoughts and prayers are with Ginger and his children and grandchildren. He will definitely be missed.

He was a true gentleman and had such respect for all. I have such fond memories of playing golf with him at Wykagyl but them happiest memory was playing golf with him in Ireland at the European CC and we were almost the only two on the course - I had set up the round and on the first hole walking down the fairway he turned and looked at me and said “Thanks Timmus” To this day I can swear I saw a tear in his eye! I will miss him terribly
