Howard Braithwaite

Obituary of Howard H. Braithwaite

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Howard Braithwaite on April 15th, 2020 at the Enclave Rehab Center in Rye NY. Howard, in his 90th year was predeceased by his wife Mary Jane (Née McDonough), his sisters Ethel & her husband Bob, Patsy and her husband Tommy. Lovingly remembered by his many nephews and nieces in both the U.S and Canada and by his brothers-in-law Vincent and Dennis McDonough as well as the many friends he made over the years. Howard was a graduate of the University of Vermont, spent 2 years in the service of his country (U.S. Army), and was an avid sailor, traveler, photographer, and chronicler of innumerable memorable family events. Howard spent most of his working years at the Lakeland Central School District, and after retirement, he worked for many years at Brewer’s Hardware in Mamaroneck, NY. Although Howard led the Horseshoe Harbor Cruising group to Plymouth, MA many times, he never told us that his ancestors landed on that rock! A modest man was he. Howard was a dear friend and mentor and companion to many of us, and we he will always be in our hearts and minds forever.
