My dear Aunt Eleanor was very good to me. I am saddened that I was not made aware of her passing. She loved my mother, Grace Totero. She will be missed

I loved Eleanor. I tried to call her and when her line didn’t work I found this. I wish someone had told my mother, sisters and myself that she had passed so we could have said goodbye. I know my grandmother (God Rest her soul, Grace Totero was a saint) would be extremely upset that we had not been made aware.
Rest In Peace Eleanor, I loved you very much.

My favorite memories of Nana are when she's laughing. For me she had an infectious laugh that always brought a smile to my face when I heard it. I remember seeing the play Spamalot with her and my Mom and there was much laughter had during it.
I'll never forget her and she'll always be my Nana.

These are all beautiful memories of Nana.
As I think of her, the memories fill my brain.
The best thing was watching Nana break out in dance. She didn't need a reason. She loved life. She loved music. She loved drinking!
She loved to dance, sing, and always knew how to make people smile. She was voted the best dancer in high school for God sake. Anytime you would put on Frank Sinatra or Michael Buble she would be the first to get up and dance. This picture can attest to that. She was always the life of the party. Loved to make people smile. After a little bit of Johnny Walker she would think she could dance like Jennifer Lopez.
She was a wonderful human being but an even better grandmother. The memories of her will continue to live on. She is now watching over us all and making sure we are okay. Love you Nana!
As Frank put it, " I'll be seeing you in all the old familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces all day through
In that small cafe, the park across the way
The children's carousel, the chestnut trees, the wishing well
I'll be seeing you in every lovely summer's day
In everything that's light and gay
I'll always think of you that way
I'll find you in the morning' sun
And when the night is new
I'll be looking at the moon
But I'll be seeing you
I'll find you in the morning sun
And when the night is new
I'll be looking at the moon
But I'll be seeing you"

Diane, Doris, and Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve the loss of your mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. My memories of Eleanor fill my heart now and always. Her hair always in place, make up on, and lipstick, a must. A woman of style, with a necklace to match. She was one-of-a-kind treasure, and I had the privilege of knowing her. To know her was to know a strong, loving woman who put her family above all others. I am going to miss sitting around the table talking, laughing, sharing memories and eating Eleanor's Easter pie. Knowing that she is now again with Ed and in the arms of our lord brings much comfort. No pie for me this year, Eleanor! But you now know the true meaning of peace. Rest in peace my dear friend, Easter will never be the same.

I will always cherish the fond memories I created with Nana. Whether someone was making her a Johnny Walker with plenty of crushed ice and water, she was shooing our girl dogs away by saying "Get him outta here" or hearing stories about how she was the best dancer and power forward in her high school. She was truly one of a kind and she will be missed. Love you forever and always.

This is a great picture of my mom and Eleanor, they were inseparable all these years. They talked a lot on the phone and did a lot of shopping at Lord & Taylor. Why wouldn't they, Eleanor had a permanent 20% discount plus whatever discount was running at the time, there were a lot of Lord & Taylor boxes at Christmas under the tree.
I always loved to see her... she made me laugh and what a great laugh and smile she had. She also called me Little John, since my dad was Big John.
I'll always remember going to New Rochelle Shore Club and swimming in the pool. She would invite my mom and sister there for the day, what a great treat instead of going to our club, Echo Bay Yatch Club that had no pool.
I'll always think of all the aunts and uncles who have gone before and the wonderful holidays we all had in tiny apartments and houses close by. It left a great impression on me to see everyone interact and be a family and the memories we all shared. Nana, Papa, Bob, Mary, Charlie, Grace, Ed, Big John, Ken and now Shrimp...what a party...Johnny Walker and Sinatra and a lot of cool Jazz...Bob is spinning vinyl and they're all having a great time.
I'll miss you Auntie Ellie...and I'll miss you saying "Who cuts the best steak"...John Stackpole!!
With love and respect...I'll see you again.
Your nephew
Little John

Mom- a simple three letter word that shaped my entire life. Thank you for everything I am today. My book of memories holds so many cherished ones of you. Our daily phone calls about everything were a ray of sunshine that brightened our days. You were a great listener and advice giver on everything from family to fashion. You definitely had a flair for that. Your style was impeccable. You were the leader of the pack, so many graduations, holidays, weddings, and of course our summers at Cape Cod and the Outer Banks. Your ricotta pie that you loved to make at Easter will now be a family tradition. You loved NYC, Broadway plays, which we shared so many going out on Saturdays. You introduced your grandchildren to Frank Sinatra and he became a memory for them. You were strong and so many times my rock and helped me through tough times. You are now my angel- please watch over all of us with your love. In the days ahead, as I sit in the morning with my fresh hot pot of Starbucks coffee, I will think of you and how you loved that time. I will also incorporate more necklaces into my wardrobe and hopefully wear them as well as you did! I love you mom and I will miss you always.

Memories of my loving sister Eleanor will always be with me in my mind and heart. We were best friends as well as sisters and spent many happy times together on family holidays, celebrating special occasions as well as vacations together on Cape Cod. We loved to shop together which was one of her favorite things to do. We enjoyed many movies together on Saturday afternoons and we talked at 5:00 every day as we shared a cocktail and a visit. I will miss those special times with my dear sister but am happy thinking about all the yesterdays we spent together.

I saw this in a book and always remembered it. When someone you love becomes a memory that memory becomes a treasure. My mom was a treasure to our family. Mom who I shared all these years with passed away, but the spirit and memories of her will last a lifetime. We shared the memories of heartache and joy together. We shared books we read, recipes( no one could make spaghetti sauce like my mom) movies, travel, family vacations to Cape Cod and Outer Banks, holiday and special occasion dinners, and just so much of day to day living. Last summer her sister Joyce, myself, and my mom went into the city to see Michael Buble. We had such a good time. Her favorite of all was Frank Sinatra. She told me that her brother Bob took her sister Grace and her to see Frank Sinatra at the Paramount Theater in New York City, She was one of the original Bobbysoxers. My mom had such energy to go and do and loved to shop. Someone said Memories are the treasures that we keep locked deep within the storehouse of our souls, to keep our hearts warm when we are lonely.Having so many memories of my mom will keep my heart warm for many many years. Love and will miss you mom.

There are so many memories I have of my Nana. I cannot think of a better grandmother to have, and I am so fortunate to have had her as long as I did. So many of my favorite childhood memories of vacations and summers are with Nana. She was so loving and cared so much about her daughters and grandchildren. She truly was the best addition to any holiday or family gathering, with her sense of humor and smart wit. Not only did Nana always support and love me, she gave me her honest opinion on everything.. no matter what. I valued that so much of her. She was one of the most stylish people I ever met, with her nails, hair, makeup and clothes always perfect. One of my favorite memories with Nana is simply sitting with her on the couch and talking about life. These times are when we got the best conversations and when I got to learn so much about the wonderful woman that she was. I will miss not being able to pick up the phone and call her, I will miss not seeing her smile at me, and I will miss her silly birthday cards in the mail. No holiday or family occasion will ever be the same without her, and we will miss her more than she'll ever know. We love you so much Nana!

What can I say about my Aunt Eleanor? Words are not sufficient to describe her. She was one of the funniest people I’ve ever know...she loved a good party...singing and dancing to Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald. She loved a good joke and was constantly making people laugh. She was a loving and caring woman...wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt....for whom...family meant everything....and she meant everything to us too. Eleanor you were a delight...a true one of a kind treasure....and you will be sorely missed....and never forgotten.
