Obituary of Helen F. Fried

Helen Fried of Mamaroneck, New York passed away at the age of 87 on July 30, 2019. She was born on May 23, 1932 in New York, New York to Samuel and Pearl Krivit. Her sister was Marilyn Steiner (predeceased).

Helen was a devoted wife to Robert Fried for 34 years until he passed in 2014.  She was a loving mother and “Nana” to her family whom she adored.  Helen was loyal to her many friends. She made a mean pot roast and was a “shark” at the card table, enjoying her weekly Canasta and Mahjong games.  Famous for her perfect flower arrangements, and her beautiful decorating style, Helen knew how to throw a great party, where she entertained with beauty and abundance.  

A long time member of Larchmont Temple, Helen was devoted to her Jewish faith and helped plan many Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, including her husband Bob’s at the age of 60!  In recent years she volunteered at White Plains Hospital where her generous spirit was appreciated by all.

Helen is survived by her two daughters Patti Fox Seymour and Pamela Fox and son in-law Ben Joravsky along with her grandchildren, Terence Seymour and his spouse Elissa Haddad, Ryan Seymour, Hannah Joravsky and her spouse Brian Woods, and Rachel Joravsky. She lost her son Michael Fox in 2001.
