Larchmont - John P. Zampino
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our John P. Zampino, formerly of Briarcliff Manor, on March 4, 2018, at the age of 73. Born September 27, 1944 in the Bronx, New York, he was the son of John and Helen Zampino. His brother, Raymond, pre-deceased him. John received a Bachelor's degree from Fordham University, a J.D. degree from Fordham Law School and an L.L.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law.
John was an all-star football player and track member at Fordham Prep. Most recently he was inducted into the Fordham Prep Football Hall of Fame and during his playing years he was a two time recipient of the Lou Gehrig award, which was awarded for sportsmanship, courage, gentlemanly conduct on and off the gridiron, as well as ability - a description that followed him throughout his life.
John was a very successful attorney, practicing in international tax and general corporate law. He helped people with his incredible mind and generous spirit. He never turned anyone away and did pro bono work throughout his life and career.
A true family man, he loved spending time with his immediate family and, in particular, his two grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary, his daughter and son-in-law Sarah and Court Bauer and their two children, Sabrina and John, as well as his daughter and son-in-law, Ana and Andrew O'Neill.
