Having shared so many Sunday evening dinners with 'Midge' at her son and daughter-in-law Jim and Mary Clare's place in Mamaroneck, I know how sadly she is missed by her family and how much her love of life meant to them. May she be resting in peace.

Kathy - my prayers are with you and the rest of our "family from the City". I remember Aunt Midge as a strong female role model - independent, in the moment, and always fashion conscious. Oh the heels! Hearing her voice in that NYC accent saying "Look at you my Little Pussycat!" has always been one of my favorite memories. Part of who I am today is because she showed us all how to be courageous and live every moment to the fullest. I think Nike actually stole the concept of "Just Do It" from Aunt Midge because that is exactly how she approached life. While WE take a moment now to be sad and reflect on the loss of Midge the Person, SHE should be happy about leaving with the legacy of Midge the Force of Nature!

There use to be a campground up off of Mamaroneck Avenue in White Plains. It seemed miles away to someone who was 8 or 9.
Every year the campfire girls would do an overnight camping trip to this location. Looking back on it, it was probaby more work to prep and breakdown than would seem sufficient for an overnight stay, but I think we earned beads for our vests or something like that so one was encouraged to partcpate.
One year my mom and Ms. Clifford were the chaperones. It rained that year. I'll never forget how Ms. Clifford almost willed the fire to get started wih the last of my mother's matches for her camel cigarettes. She did it though and there were hot dogs and marshmallow roastng for all, with a few matches left for my mom and her cigs.
I remember overhearing my mom and Ms. Clifford talking into the night. They had an understanding those two. Looking back on it now I can't help but think it was funny. My mom and Ms. Clifford were working moms before it was chic to be so , yet, here they were taking 10 of us 8-9 year olds off on a night of camping...makes an adult me understand what the word sacrafice means.
She was strong!

Hi Kathy So sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I have many found memories of her laughing. You know when my dad died, she was the first person to arrive at our door and she had a canned ham! It made all of us feel so blessed. You will all be in our prayers not Elaine

Kathy, Sorry to hear of your mother's passing. My memories of her are as a vivacious woman with moxie. "A sharp cookie." It made us laugh to hear all her different sayings that sounded so cool. When she visited Buffalo she brought a whirlwind of energy with her. She never seemed to get tired and was always ready for fun. Into each life some rain must fall, and it did in hers, but she weathered the storms well. A courageous lady. My sincerest sympathy to you and your family and Jim and Pattibeth's also. May she rest in peace. Aunt Carolyn Buffalo, NY

Ms. Clifford, my second mom when I was a kid who thought the world was "kicky"! She was strong in body, mind and attitude. I loved her with all my heart. She will be missed.

I will not remember my mother as someone with Alzhiemer's Disease. I want to remember her dancing and laughing.
