She wrote that her aim was "to strengthen the bond of Montessori schools around the world for the benefit of all our children and a peaceful world." Of the founding of HCMS, Muysa said that her vision was to create a "school infused with a joy for learning" dedicated to the education of the whole child. Musya is predeceased by her beloved husband, Ortwin August Meyer, and daughter, Lynne Campbell. She leaves her memories to be cherished by her son, Mark Meyer, current head of HCMS; daughter-in-law, Megin Meyer; grandchildren Nicholas and Katherine; and all others whose lives she has touched, including a wide circle of colleagues and friends in the American Montessori Society.
