With warmest regards and condolences to those closest to Lee. As a community we are very lucky to have had Lee live among us. As an individual, I am better for having known him and having worked with him on environmental issues that meant a lot to both of us.

Remembering his days at Lever Brothers Company. Always a gentleman

David Vernon Lustig posted a condolence
Thursday, December 15, 2011
Lee was administrative vice president of Lever when I came down to New York from Boston to interview with the company for a junior level public affairs position many years ago. All these years later, my three indelible impressions remain. First, how much of a gentleman Lee was. Second, his bookcase was filled not just with the company notebooks and law books one would expect, but also with a number of novels and, if memory serves, several collections of poetry and Greek classics. And third, Lee had a lot of fondness for the Boston Red Sox, a hangover, I suspect, from his days at Harvard. We spent most of the time talking not about the job, but about the Sox and how all the signs were pointing to them winning the American League pennant that year. The year was 1978, and we all know how that turned out. Lee was a class act and all of us who knew him will miss him.
