You will always be in our hearts Aunt Joan. You were always there to provide us with great insights (as well as guidance on living in the area). It was very comforting to go to college around here knowing that you, Uncle Eddie and Billy were around to provide a dose of family when needed.
You provided good guidance and help to help us over the years. Hanna always remembers you bringing her to CCD and being the first to let her sit in front.
We had such enjoyable visits with you during your final days. We will always cherish the time we shared with you. Enjoy your reunion with other loved ones on "the other side."

Joan will always be remembered by us as beloved wife of Ed Adams and mother of Billy. She was our elder sister-in-law whom we respect dearly. She read voraciously about all things that impacted people with disability so that she could be an advocate for them. Billy was the reason for this. Her devotion to his care and quality of life reflected a mother's deep love and wisdom. Her kindness and generosity towards her families helped build bonds amongst them. Her keen research and understanding of news and current issues resulted in many stimulating conversations and insights gained. Joan was a strong woman, in spirit and mind. She was proud of her Norwegian ancestry - which may explain her toughness and sense of pragmatism. We loved that she spoke her mind. Although Joan will be greatly missed, we are glad that she lived her life as she would have wanted. May she rest in peace assured that Billy will be surrounded by people who will love and care for him.
