Obituary of Mary Jayne McKay

Mary Jayne McKay, age 65, passed away on the 3rd of February, 2013 at her home in Manhattan, NY. Mary Jayne was born in Syosset, NY on the 2nd of October, 1947, the daughter of Joseph Becht and Dorothy Wallace. A proud graduate from The College of New Rochelle, class of '69, Mary Jayne accepted a position as Editor at Women's Page, marking the commencement of a fruitful career. She excelled as a journalist & writer, with positions held as Editor of The Daily Times of Larchmont/Mamaroneck, The Standard Star of New Rochelle, Prodigy News, and most recently as Executive Producer for CBS Digital Media for 15 years. Mary Jayne was the loving mother of three sons, Trevor, Drew & Justin, and a daughter, Alison. She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph & Dorothy, and her niece, Meghan Dammers McCormick. She is survived by her loving sisters, Carolyn Dammers & Barbara Cannizzaro and niece, Shannon Dammers. Those that were closest to Mary Jayne enjoyed her zest for life & warm companionship. She possessed a deep appreciation for the arts, namely literature, music & movies. She was a Christian woman of deep-seated faith, a parishioner of both Saint Patrick's Catherdral, Manhattan & Church of St. Augustine, Larchmont. Her family will accept the visitation of friends on Thursday, February 7th and Friday, February 8th between 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 at John J. Fox Funeral Home, 2080 Boston Post Road, Larchmont, NY. A funeral mass with be celebrated on Saturday, February 9th at 10:00 am at the Church of St. Augustine, 18 Cherry Ave., Larchmont.
