It was only a few short weeks ago that my wife and I were fortunate enough to attend the surprise party for Mary-Jayne's 65th birthday. It was wonderful seeing old friends as well as Drew, Justin and Trevor and meeting Drew's wife and Justin's then-girlfriend and now, fiance -- and her parents! But the memory that will be burned in my mind and heart forever is of MJ, my blessed, beloved friend, sitting there in her tiara. I'm so grateful I was able to attend because that -- that will now be the way I always remember MJ. That imagery will always bring a smile to my face.

Mary-Jayne was as remarkable as she was unique. She was Good. She was Righteous. She lived the Golden Rule. That -- was her essence. A better-than superb journalist. An exemplary leader. Fair beyond the need to be. Worked harder than anyone. A loving, caring, kind mother who overcame great personal and physical challenges to soar at that most critical of all jobs. A cherished friend who left memories for the ages – and now, a hole in my life. I was blessed to know her. Mary-Jayne was, in every sense -- an angel among us.

My deepest condolences to Mary Jayne's family. I worked for her at CBS from February - September 2011. My wife and I relocated to Boston, otherwise I'd still be there, talking her into letting me write snarky stories about bands and celebrities. I'm very sorry for your loss. She was a wonderful boss, and very good to me.

Such an astonishing human being. A nice Catholic girl and a razor-sharp editor. A great brain and a rock 'n roll fanatic. I never knew her to do a mean thing or say a cruel word. She made me laugh until my guts hurt and she was always there when I needed her. I'm glad she got her years in New York, where she enjoyed every minute of her time. I'm glad she got to see Justin get engaged to a wonderful young woman, and got to know Drew's wife, who she adored. And as always, she was filled with pride and admiration for Trevor and the fine creative life he has made for himself. I will always miss her, but I'll try to remember all the good times, and most of all her indefatigable optimism.

MJ I remember when I first began at CBS back in '99. The first two voices I can distinctly remember was Ellen Crene and yours. You both had such zest and enthusiasm for your craft. MJ you were always warm and thoughtful towards those you worked with but you also knew when it was time to discipline and you did it with respect. Our Lord and savior has called home another wonderful person and has created another angel in heaven. And HE has named her MJ. Rest in His Glory and be at peace MJ. With Love Chad
