Been with you all in love and gratitude. Spent time tonight consolidating thoughts to share. Just logged on and had to smile when I read Michael’s beautiful tribute. This is what I wrote prior to reading his. Interesting that it is a shared experience.
Barbara Bleemer was like a spring breeze. Gentle and warm. In my youth I would sometimes think of Barbara and Art as my surrogate parents. Their kind hearts were a consistent beacon of light showing how a sweet life could be lived.
To you Jill, my oldest and dearest friend, your mom was a lucky woman to have given and received love from a daughter as good as you.
Much love to each and every one of you. You are in my heart

I consider Bobbie as my second mom, and Arthur Darling as my second dad. My own mom and dad were two of their longest and best friends. Together, these four incredible ‘parentals’ taught me, my two sisters and the three “Bleems” how to live lives full of kindness, caring, respect for others, compassion and love.
There are too many incredible memories with Bobbie, Art, their kids and my family to even try to choose a favorite. However, this is one of my last really really good ones….
The picture I’ve shared was taken on an August day not too many years ago. After having shown up on a surprise visit, I had just jumped onto Bobbie’s bed at CornHill where she was taking a nap. She awoke with a surprised “oh, Michael!!!”, a phrase I’d heard from her so many times over the past many decades.
I remember telling her then how much I loved her. That I’ve always loved her, and that I always would.
Thank you, Bob, for all of the love and kindness, wisdom and support that you gave me. I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always. As long as I’m living, your Michael I’ll be!
