I received the sad news of Frank's passing from Stan Levin. I was a legal editor at West from 1975 (in Mineola) until the closing of the Westbury office in June 1997. He was Assistant Managing Editor in charge of McKinney's New York Laws at the time (I was assigned to U.S. Code Annotated). My wife Mary Jane worked in the manuscript department during 1975-76 (we met at West), so she knew Frank too. He was always very good to me, especially when I was out of the office for long periods due to heart surgeries in 1989 and 1994. I will always remember him. My condolences, and my wife Mary Jane's as well, to the family.

I met Frank on my first day of work at West Publishing Co. in Mineola in 1976. He already was a supervisor and encouraged me in my career there. He was ultimately instrumental in all the promotions I received. I always will remember the talks we had and, especially, his sense of humor. My condolences to his family.

I bear as my middle name the name of my godfather, Frank. A vivid memory I have is after watching him perform extended pushups using three kitchen chairs; one for his feet and the other two for each arm. He made it look so easy I couldn’t wait to get home to try it myself. Needless to say a 10 year old had no idea what this entailed. I almost killed myself on my first try. My godfather always had a smile on his face and I was amazed that he knew everything about everything. By far the most intelligent man I ever knew. My condolences to my cousins and their families. Uncle Frank was a special man. He will be missed. Ronald Frank Nicastri

Marlyn and Jackie, send there deepest sympathy, to Dr Nicastri's family. It was such a pleasure, to work with him. He was kind, humble, a true gentleman. We truly loved him. Keeping the family in thoughts and prayers, in this difficult time.
