Dear Plesent family,
I first got to know Gloria (and Stanley too) in the 1970s through their support of the Alvin Ailey Company. Whenever I saw them over the years since I was always struck by Gloria's wonderful warmth and vitality and, with Stanley, their enthusiastic engagement with the world around them. In my minds eye when I think of a loving couple, I will always think of Gloria and Stanley.
