About 63 years past, I noticed a little boy at my friend’s home on North Avenue who looked a lot like my friend Harrison. The little boy at three years of age was handsome, more handsome that my friend Harrison, who was about 15 years older. I met that little boy as a teen and later as a Dad, several times over the years at family gatherings as his sister had married my cousin John Macken, son of my aunt Rita Cullen. That boy was John Pierce. His father was a Notre Dame grad and his brother Harrison was also a Notre Dame grad, but John decided he would go with the Jesuits and he became a Marquette grad. I watched as he grew and raised great kids and cared for his wife, who developed a debilitating disease and ultimately passed away at a relatively young age. We were both members of the Larchmont Shore Club with the major intention of providing a safe and healthy environment for our kids to spend the summer months. At about 6 PM on hot summer days, John Pierce and I would arrive at the Shore Club for our “Twilight Membership” as we called it. Laughing with one another as we shared short stories of how the work day had gone by.
He was always upbeat, always open for discussion and always the gentleman, just like his brother Harrison and just like his Dad.
Gone to his Creator at age 66. God must have a reason to take such a bright light from us at such a young age.
May John Pierce Rest in Peace.

My partner in crime,
Cold cuts, chocolate covered paydays and i still have the paper towel over my reverse screen, so thanks for that john boy, and thank you for welcoming me in to your beautiful family, and all the long walks with hanky, showing me all the different houses and who lived there!
I’m going to miss you a lot more than you will understand! But thank you for making me smile each day and walking in to my life! You are one strong fighter.
Love you wee man, love always Shannon ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️

I take solace in knowing that the sorrow we all feel now ; Will, in time, be replaced with the memories and joy of the friendship we shared with this incredible man.
