I was a friend of Bob's from Columbia. We were George Reinhardt's German class freshman year. Reinhardt was a wonderful teacher who gave us one Kafka story after another. We loved him and imitated his thick Philadelphia accent. Robert and I met at reunions in 2007,12, and 17. He was a wonderful companion who rattled off every member of our German class in Hamilton Hall. Rose also befriended my wife, Elsa Dixler. I missed Bob at the last reunion.i am so sorry that we lost him. I send heartfelt condolences to his family. He had good sense and a keen interest in ideas. Jeff Schneider. Jeff.Schneider@att.net.
