Obituary of Ruth Carson Collins

Ruth Carson Collins, Co-founder of Badger Sports Club, along with her late husband Jack Collins, passed away peacefully at her home on October 9, 2012 at the age of 100. Born in New Rochelle, she was a graduate of the class of 1930 of New Rochelle High School. Ruth and Jack wear married during WWII and in 1945 started Badger in its present location in Larchmont. They ran the camp together until Jack's death in 1973. Since that time, her son John and later, her grandson John III have run Badger along with Ruth. She is survived by her son John, Her grandsons John III, Brett, Wyatt, Jack and the late Keefe and McKenzie Anastasia. A wake will be held at Badger Sports Club (119 Rockland Ave. Larchmont) on Thursday October 11, 2012, 12 - 7 PM. Interment is private.
