Margaret Brady Corkery (Peggy) died peacefully in her home in Larchmont, surrounded by her family, on Thursday January 13, 2022, at the age of 86.
Peggy, born in 1935, was a lifelong resident of Larchmont, NY and daughter of Walter Foster Brady and Helen Cathleen Scully Brady. She is survived by her children Douglas Corkery of Larchmont, NY, Colin (Elizabeth) Corkery of Needham, MA, Christopher (Karen) Corkery of Stamford, CT and Megan (Thomas) Donahue of Highland, NY. As well as survived by her siblings and their families: Helen Crowley of New Canaan, CT, William Berte Brady of Venice, FL, Virginia O’Brien of Lincoln, MA and Edward Brady of Larchmont, NY. Peggy was predeceased by her brother Walter Foster Brady, Jr and by her own daughter Katherine (Kate) Libby Corkery.
Peggy’s six loving grandchildren: Paige Corkery of Atlanta, GA, William Corkery of Philadelphia, PA, Charles Corkery of Boston, MA, Olivia Corkery of Boston, MA, Shannon Donahue of Highland, NY and Brian Donahue of Boston, MA, called her “Ani”, and were the absolute light of her life. Peggy is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, their spouses, and grand nieces and nephews with whom Peggy loved to spend time, especially while at the beach in South Chatham, MA where the family gathered every summer.
For the majority of her working life, Peggy was an accomplished broker in the insurance field, retiring from insurance agency, Carlson and Carlson in Riverside, CT in 2008.
Peggy’s smiling face, quick wit and kindness will be missed by her many friends and family. A private service for family will take place at Woodlawn cemetery in NYC. A gathering to celebrate Peg’s life will be planned for the spring, at a time when we can safely enjoy social gatherings, and at a place where all will be welcome, as Peggy loved a first-rate fiesta.
