Lovely memories of dinner together in Dar and Phyllis’s warmth and charm. I wish there had been more opportunity to spend time together. But, so many conversations with Maggie where the love and esteem with which she was clearly held speaks volumes about the person she was.

I remember with fondness and happiness the wonderful conversations and convivial spirit of the lunches at Demarchelier Restaurant in New York City with Barbara Dworetzky and Phyllis Bangser. The joy of life well- lived was always present.

I am so sorry for your loss. What an exceptional woman and mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Bangser helped my mother freshen up our house in Larchmont and presented us with this oil painting of hers which hung above our couch and brought great pleasure. Now it hangs in my living room in NYC. It is special and I thank her everyday. I send my sympathy to all of you, Alan Slavin

Dear Bangsers, one and all,
The first time I really came to know Phyllis was on a beautiful fall afternoon while sitting in the yard of the house in Larchmont, drinking ice tea and discussing life. I had just married into the Cooper family, and we spent the day discussing life, marriage, and careers. We had one another’s utmost attention, and I knew then that this was a woman I would always consider a friend. She was so gracious, very generous with herself and her talents. And she once told me, when I had asked for advice on how she arranged her trademark scarf, “Charity, you must never study a scarf!”
My deepest condolences on the loss of this remarkable woman.
