Obituary of Catherine Januzzi
Catherine (Kay) Januzzi was a wonderful, beautiful, selfless and compassionate grandmother. She loved her family and placed family above everything else - even above her own happiness and comfort at times. Her grandchildren Nicholas, Michelle, Kira and Shayna, had the privilege of many years worth of memories with her; living to the proud age of 94.
Kay was a simple woman with simple needs: her small home, something Italian to eat, her husband George whom she adored with all her heart, her children George and Karen, and her grandchildren. While she didn’t have that many needs, the ones she did have she placed very high on her priority list. For example, you never saw her without her signature, curled hair-do Once she found a hairstyle that worked for her, she rocked it for as long as the family can remember. Ultimately, that hairstyle was her signature and something they will always think of when they think of her.
Having a loved one die during a global pandemic is something you cannot prepared for. You can’t anticipate the fact that you can’t visit them in the hospital. You can’t tell them how much you love them. You can’t hold their hand and reassure them that you’re there for them. It’s a heartbreak unlike any other. Kay was the living embodiment of a family, so it was fortuitous that her children, George and Karen, were able to be with her during her final days.
Please hold onto your loved ones and hold onto them tight. Tell them you love them, hold their hands, and reassure them that you’re there for them. We would have given literally anything to do that for our mother, grandmother, and friend.
We love you grandma. Grandpa is so happy to see you and now, you have forever together. Rest In Peace and power, you beautiful angel.
