In October of 1986, Jackie welcomed me, a 26-year-old, inexperienced state employee from Albany, to her office on City Island Avenue for several days to acclimate me to the City Island real estate market. At the end of the week, she invited me to her home at the northeast corner of the Island to meet her daughter and family, at which time she took her daily swim in the Long Island Sound. I remember her telling me it was "invigorating and rejuvenating"; she must have been right, as her longevity can attest. In every sense, she was a true professional, a considerate and kind lady, and an inspiration to this virtual stranger; I've remembered her ever since our visit.
