To the Roberts Family,
Denez and Halle here, on behalf of the team at Union Square Cafe we want to send our deepest condolences to you. A piece of us will be missing without Dot at her favorite table every Saturday for brunch, lighting up the whole room just by being in it. She has become such a significant part of our family and we will miss her so so much. When it is safe and comfortable, we look forward to having you to toast to Dot and the legacy she left. We are thinking of you all and look forward to the day when we see you in person again and remember Dot and all that she is.

Dearest Lynn and Steven,
My heart goes out to you for your devastating loss.
Your wonderful mother was one of the first people I met when I became Accessory Editor at Vogue and the one I think of most often when I think about all of the "market friends" I made from my years there. I adored going to Echo. I introduced Dorothy to Grace Mirabella, then Editor in Chief, and we had lunch together a few times. I always thought that if I left Vogue I would want to work with all of you at Echo.
My deepest condolences to you and your families,
Jade Hobson

It was such a pleasure to work with Dot on the RL brand. I had such respect and admiration for her. She generously shared her experience and knowledge always having something valuable to offer. She really was a trail blazer and a woman before her time. She defined class and elegance. The world was a better place with her in it and she will be missed by all. My deepest sympathy to Steven, Lynn, Ben and all who loved her. Sandy Aronson

I have so many memories of my beloved Aunt Dot. She spent so much time with me when I would visit my grandmother Elsie on Long Island. She would take me swimming and let me play at her house, take me on bike rides and always made me laugh! She gave me some of Lynn’s old Barbies and introduced me to Pachinko machines, Lol. I remember her visiting me at my Grandmothers house, usually in a tennis dress straight from a game with her beautiful tan. Even after all these years we stayed in touch with holiday cards and letters. When I was living in Chicago in the 90’s, I Was drinking my morning coffee when I saw in the Herald an ad by Marshall Fields to “Meet Dot Roberts in the accessories department and see a demonstration on tying scarves” I somehow managed to get dressed and drive into downtown in time to find her. It was a sweet SHORT visit but she still had that warm and loving smile and laugh I remembered. Just a couple of months ago I received a note saying we should visit since I live in PA now and my daughter works in Manhattan. Since it was when COVID started, I decided to wait til the end of summer. My biggest regret. My love goes out to Stephen and Lynn as well as prayers for God’s peace and comfort. I love you so much, Aunt Dot and you will be in my heart and memories forever.

I first met Dot in the '80s when I came for lunch as a buyer at Lincoln Center. I knew then that I wanted to work for Echo and for Dot. Those following 9 years at Echo changed my life forever. She was a mentor to me both professionally and personally. She touched me and so many others with her leadership, kindness, and love of family. I am grateful to her for so much and will miss our periodic lunches whenever I was in town. Lynn, Steven, Meg and Echo Family, I can't even begin to express my sympathy and sorrow at her loss. But she gave us so much to remember and I will cherish those memories forever. She will be missed.

Dear Dorothy,
I can only hope that I adequately expressed my love and appreciation for your friendship, support and advice over almost forty years. For many women starting in business, you were the example that a woman could have it all. I remember our first dinner, our many lunches, our meetings at Echo and many, many calls to talk along the way. I will miss you with all my heart.

My memory of her brings a big smile to my face.

What a loss to.so many of us who loved having Dorothy as part of our lives. I always looked forward to spending time together and sharing stories. We were in touch about 6 weeks ago and she told me she hurt her back ripping up reports because she couldnt get to the office to use the shredder. Typically Dorothy. She always made me feel like family and friend . Her spirit and love of life and family always left me feeling great . She truly made a mark on the world . My condolences to Steven , Lynn and the entire family. Thanks for sharing Dot with me.

I am both shocked and filled with sorrow to read of Dot's passing. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to her family.
She was an amazing woman -- a personal as well as business friend for over 50 years. Boundless energy, breadth of interests, candor, curiosity, business acumen, and taste were just the beginning with Dot. Beverly and I will miss periodic dinners with her filled with stimulating conversation, wonderful reminiscences, and loads of laughter; her precisely timed occasion cards containing warm, thoughtful messages; and, her delightful descriptions of plans for and pleasures from grand vacations with her wonderful family. We are sad and will miss her greatly.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Dorothy Roberts. My condolences to her family. I met Mrs. Roberts in 1990 when I was working at Caroll of Paris, a French company with stores in America, and I bought her Echo scarves for our stores - and they sold very well. It was such a pleasure to meet her and work right there in the showroom with her. She is such a kind, thoughtful, lady!
I keep my wonderful memories of knowing her. Sincerely, Jane C. Bunn-Murphy
