Obituary of Frank Peter Santoliquido

Frank Peter Santoliquido, born in White Plains, NY, on August 27, 1954, passed away quietly from complications of Atypical Parkinson’s Disease January 27, 2020. Up to the point Frank was diagnosed in 2008 he resided in Mount Vernon, NY. He then moved to the Dumont Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation where he has lived the past 9 years. Frank is survived by his loving mother, Gisele Francoeur Santoliquido (89), sister, Dolores R. Santoliquido, and her husband, Keith W. Confalone, their daughter, Jada Lynne Sparaco, and her family, husband, Alex Sparaco and their two sons, Parker and Henry. After attending Fairleigh-Dickenson University in Teaneck, NJ Frank worked at St. Agnes Home for Boys in Sparkill, NY, and later at Children’s Village in Dobbs Ferry, NY. The lives of these children left a life-long impact on Frank. Although he loved doing this work, it is a very difficult thing to see children in distress. After several years he transitioned from this path and took over his father’s trophy business, R & F Trophies. From its inception, the business was planned as a family business. Frank studied freehand engraving at Tiffany & Co. His mastering this art-form enabled him to showcase his creative abilities. Frank’s true passion was all about food. He loved cooking. He was not merely a cook, he was a self-trained chef. He had an innate ability to put together gastronomic delights! In Frank’s younger years, he was a hang glider. He would go up to the New Paltz area to partake in the sport. Additionally, he loved to camp and enjoyed the great outdoors. Frank was a talented photographer, documenting images from cross country trips taken during his years of robust health. Frank was one of a handful of men who, just over 25 years ago, formed a small organization called the Loft, which now represents the LGBTQ community on a grand scale. Frank was an activist in support of gay rights and part of his legacy lives on in the health and wellbeing of this organization and its outreach programs. We are profoundly saddened by the loss of a son, a brother, an uncle, a great-uncle, a nephew, a cousin, and a friend. Frank will be truly missed. When a person departs from this Earth they never truly leave. They are still alive in our hearts and minds, and through us they live on. Frank lives on in each person whose life he touched. He will live on in the heart and mind of each and every person here today and many people who were not able to be here today. He touched many lives during his 65 plus years on the planet and the ripples his touch created continue to spread and grow.
