I just heard from Cindy yesterday that Brian had passed. We worked together in the Midcoast and later in the Freeport area. Brian was always a good man to have on the job, he had a can do attitude and a great personality. He often spoke of Willow and Tucker. I remember him always bringing different food concoctions in to a job along with a gas stove to heat it up. He will be missed by me, farewell my friend.

It is with great sorrow that I am sending my condolences on your recent loss. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, I and would like to share a scripture that has benefited me and many people in time of grief. God reassures us of something wonderful in the Bible at Acts 24:15. It says, "There is going to be a resurrection." Along with God's promise to us at Revelation 21:3, 4 of sorrow, death, and pain being done away with permanently.
It is my hope that this bit of information is of comfort to you. Please be sure to find further information regarding the resurrection at: JW.ORG
May God be with you.

It was so lovely to hear the funny moments and endearing stories told by the Brothers Grinnell. Thank you for sharing them; how lucky Larchmont is to have such a family, and how lucky we were to grow up there together. May Brian Rest In Peace surrounded by love.

Lots of love to all as we celebrate Brian's big beautiful heart and the wisdom and experience he gained through so many years of adventure and hard work. He shared this wisdom generously at quieter moments. His fireside connections, stories and humor were not to be rivaled. What fun to have Brian and Cindy in our midst these past ten years. They both are so deeply loved.
So much love and support to Willow and Tucker specifically. Gratitude for the many layers of parents and extended family in their midst/within reach as you grow and stretch in new ways, some unbidden. Our family is here as witness within the circle of friendship to your father and direct support to Brian during these past few weeks. Love to you both.
I also want to extend connection to the larger tug boat community with whom Brian spent so much of his time. My thoughts are with everyone who will miss him on every sort of passage.
We are with everyone in spirit today and continue to hold vigil on Brian's behalf here in Maine.
with Love, Bridget (Titus and Julian)

To the Grinnell Family,
I am so sorry to hear the news of Brian’s passing. He was a good man and had a mean fastball. I was the recipient of many of his snowballs that were hurled my way with a velocity that created a sting when contact was made.
RIP, Brian.
With deep sympathy,
Jamie Conkling

I met Brian in the fall of ‘98. We were in the same program at Washington County Tec. From the minute we met it seemed like I knew him my whole life. He always had a story that would make you laugh . We kept in touch over the years and I always looked forward to his visits to PEI. His daily pictures of places he was working were always a highlight to my day. I will miss our messages and hearing of his latest adventure. My thoughts and prayers are with you all .
