Obituary of Annette Rega Harrison

Annette Rega Harrison passed away March 25, 2019, after an 8 month valiant struggle against a suddenly appearing disease with many complications!

Annette was truly a magnificent self-made woman. Born into a low income Italian family in Brooklyn, NY on 7/2/38; she was raised in Queens, NY.

All of her accomplishments in life were largely self-driven.  She graduated from Queens College, NY in 1961. Annette held master degrees in education from NYU and Columbia University in N.Y.

She specialized in teaching children with learning and especially reading disabilities.  Annette progressed from teaching children in minority area neighborhoods; to teaching in the Larchmont area of Westchester, N.Y. and was involved (for a period of time) with the 1st program at The Dalton School in New York City.

Annette was comfortable with people from all walks of life!

She was the beloved mother of 2 boys- David and Paul, of 4 grandchildren and of 2 daughters-in-law and was the beloved wife of her husband Leonard since being married in 1962.

Annette was loving, giving, smart, spiritual and realistic.  She was a voracious reader of all types of books and taught herself how to speak French; had a major interest in Art, was interested in traveling and interested in fashion and cooking.

Annette will be greatly missed by Leonard, her family members and the many, many people who knew her in life.

We know she is in a better place.

Funeral Service are private.
