My name is David Camerini. I worked at all three stores during the summers and certain semesters of my college years. Richard and Linda were very special people and were always so warm to me and all the staff. I also remember Richard's brother, Ken, and Harris, the general manager of the Larchmont store very fondly. The Coulters and the Store will always have a special place in my heart.

I was sad to learn today that Richard passed away in January 2019. As late as I am, I'd like to extend my condolences to Linda and the entire family.
With the amount of time that has gone by, I'm not sure this message will ever be read. Still, I'd like to share a story about Richard's generosity and kindness.
I worked at County Boys' in Larchmont while attending Iona College. My family wasn't in a position to help with the cost of my education, so that job was a big part of making college possible for me.
Half-way through my junior year I ran out of money; the semester's tuition was $2,500 and I was about $600 short. Seeing no other option, I asked Harris to give me as many hours as he could until the start of the next semester. Interrupting my education wasn't a tragedy, but it was enough to take the wind out of my sails.
Soon after I made my request to Harris, Richard called me back to his desk and asked me about it. I explained the situation and he told me to go to the college and ask for $600 in additional financial aid. I expressed how hopeless I thought such an effort would be, but he insisted that I try. He then said that if my effort to obtain the additional aid was unsuccessful, he would lend me the money I needed to continue my education without interruption.
I asked/pleaded for the additional aid and was stunned when the school gave it to me. When I told Richard the outcome, he shook my hand and congratulated me on "my" victory. I knew then that the victory was Richard's, I was just the beneficiary. It would have never happened but for him. I thanked him for his advice, and told him how very much I appreciated his kind and generous offer to help with my tuition. No one had ever done anything like that for me before.
This is just one example of how Richard made it a part of his life's journey to help others on their journeys. His helping others wasn't limited to those who asked for assistance, he looked for opportunities to help others and took them up on his own initiative. A remarkable quality of a truly remarkable man.

I am so sorry to hear about Richard. My first real job was at County Boys and Rich Sr. (as well as Linda and Rich Jr.) taught me so much in the 2 years I was there. I went to college "ready" because of that experience at the Golden Horseshoe store. I owe a lot to Rich and the Coulter family. Finest people anywhere!
Richard will be missed by many.
Fondest memories
Jim

Uncle Rich, as he is fondly known to us Talbott kids was such a force in our lives and the memories are endless. From weddings, to Syracuse football and College Bowl games with Tom and Sally, College Basketball brackets to being there for us when things get tough, Rich was always there. His love of life and that laugh will be cherished forever. We are heartbroken for the loss but grateful that we had such a wonderful man in our lives for so many years. Sending love to Linda, Kathy, Debbie, Rick and Susan.

Dear Coulter Family – I’m so sorry to hear about Richard’s passing. I have so many fond memories of him and our families’ time together. I learned so much from Mr. C and had such a great time working for County Boys and Men. I’ll always remember his smile and that great laugh! His generosity was unmatched. So many memories – Mets’ games with tailgating, the County Boys & Men’s softball team games, the Super Bowl parties with the betting boxes; Christmas Eve at the store, then the Henriques’ after, and LAC after that – while not in the best of shape! I know my parents valued his/your friendship very much and always had a fun time when you all were together. Wishing you peace, comfort and love in this difficult time. – Drew Roever

So sorry to hear of cousin Richard’s passing. With his almost daily emails and jokes we felt in touch. I had just started an email to Richard when I received the phone call from cousin Joan. So very sad and surprising, since I felt like I had just received an email. I’m attaching a fond memory that will be 50 years old this July, and so typical of the “Coulter Boys”...full of life and fun. The rabbit appeared at our wedding reception....thanks for the memory, Richard. Wish we were closer to have had more memories. Know you will celebrate his wonderful life! Love to you all, Eileen & Doug

So sorry to hear of Richard's passing. He was a larger than life presence in my life growing up. Trick or-treating with Debbie and the 6 foot pink rabbit, super bowl parties every year with games and food and betting (which was pretty cool for a kid), church, County Boys... living around the block meant that Richard and Linda were our second set of parents. The 4 Coulter kids were about the same ages as the 4 henriques kids. We did lots together. I last saw Richard at my mom's 85th birthday. His smile lit up the room, his laughter was contagious and his love of family and friends was evident. He will be missed. My prayers and love go to you all, Laura
