Gertrude Goldhirsch Schwartz, born September 7, 1930 in Vienna, Austria. Died at home October 12, 2018 in Manhattan at age 88. Loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Esteemed social worker, schoolteacher, and therapist. Pianist. Predeceased by her brothers and her parents. Survived by her daughters, Amy and Jennifer and grandchildren, August, Daisy, Tallulah, and Coco. "Truly a strong independent woman in a time when not many were...An inspiration." Funeral services Tuesday, October 16, 11am, Larchmont Temple, 75 Larchmont Ave., Larchmont, NY. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. We will miss you.
