Obituary of Beatrice G. Walsh
Beatrice G Walsh, 90, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2018 at Sarah Neuman Nursing Home in Mamaroneck NY. She was born on August 18, 1927 in Portchester, NY to Richard Grube and Elizabeth (McGaw) Grube.
Bea grew up in Larchmont, NY. She attended Chatsworth grammar school and graduated from Mamaroneck High School in Mamaroneck, NY class of 1945. After high school she began working for the International Paper Company as an administrative assistant where she worked for [5] years. On July 8, 1950 she married the love of her life, James R. (Bud) Walsh at St. Augustine's church in Larchmont. Together they raised their five children in Larchmont.
Bea spent many years of her life as homemaker, caretaker and community volunteer. She was a troop leader for 15 years with the Camp Fire Girls. Bea had time for everyone and was always there to lend a helping hand in her quite, humble way. God blessed her with great physical strength and unwavering patience's. Her family and friends meant the world to her and she cherished every minute she spent with all of them. Bea loved to host gatherings for her family and friends where she would bake and share her famous cut out cookies. She enjoyed music, knitting, crafting and sewing. After her children were grown, she returned to work at Bert Frost, INC in Larchmont where she worked as a bookkeeper for fifteen years.
Bea was preceded in death by her husband, Bud, brothers, Richard and Ernest, and sister Margaret.
Bea is survived by her five children; Sue, James, Stephen, Jeff and Beth and their spouses and partners, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren and her dear sister Ruth, and many nieces and nephews.
Viewing 5pm-8pm Sunday, April 29, 2018 at John J. Fox funeral home in Larchmont, NY. Mass of the Christian burial St. Augustine's Church Larchmont, NY, Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11 am. Burial private. In lieu of flowers family requests donations in Beatrice's name to Calvary Hospital, Bronx NY or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
