Obituary of Joseph J. Cetra

Joseph J. Cetra "Charlie" May 4, 1927 - November 28, 2017 After a beautiful and long life Charlie continues his journey with the Master. Charlie was the son of Maria Santucci and Giovanni Cetra of Abruzzo, Italy and Queens, New York. After serving in the U.S. Army in World War II, he met Maria Iannacci and they married in 1952 and shared 65 happy years together. They rejoiced in their three children, John, Mary Ellen and Gloria and their five grandchildren. He began his lifelong career in masonry work which grew into a thriving construction business, leaving his signature of quality buildings throughout Queens and Brooklyn. He expanded his accomplishments in real estate investment and management. Charlie loved the outdoors and walking his land and hunting brought him great pleasure. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his wife, Maria, and their children and grandchildren. Charlie had a quiet wisdom and warmth that was felt by all who met him. Charlie will be affectionately remembered by: his loving wife, Maria, children John, Mary Ellen and Gloria Cetra and their spouses Nancy J. Ruddy, John Collett and John Greco; and grandchildren Andrea Cetra, Julian and Molly Collett and Olivia and Jack Greco.
