Obituary of Adam Edward Tomza
Adam Edward Tomza of Larchmont passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on November 19, 2017 after valiantly battling brain cancer. He is survived by his loving wife Batoul, their two darling children Kamil and Sophia, his parents Anna and Edward Tomza and brother Jacek. The Senhaji-Tomza family welcomes you to join them in honoring the memory and celebrating the life of Adam.
Raised in Poland, Adam moved to Kansas to attend high school on a scholarship soon after the fall of the Berlin Wall. A quintessential immigrant, he would learn the English language and acquire a solid education including two Masters degrees from The George Washington University. Following the completion of his studies, he would build a career in finance, fall in love and marry Batoul, who hails from Morrocco, and raise two beautiful children in Larchmont. An exemplary parent, Adam showered Kamil and Sophia with love and kindness, proudly instilling in them the principles and passion for cultural diversity and languages so dear to him.
Adam's love for exploring different cultures and places is reflected in his circle of close friends who come from places near and far. With each one of them he made a real connection, caring deeply about their welfare and always willing to lend an ear. His work colleagues remember him as an industrious and persevering professional, whose honesty and camaraderie they could always count on. Away from work, he enjoyed playing the piano and clarinet, being outdoors, sailing, skiing, and capturing memorable photographs.
Adam's unwavering courage and positive attitude over the course of his treatment has been a source of inspiration to his family and close friends. He epitomized equanimity, love and selflessness in the face of adversity and even during the darkest days of his struggle with cancer. Indeed, he taught us all how to be more human.
Adam will be remembered for leading a principled life, shaped by a indomitable optimism, incredible humanity and an indelible sense of humor.
