Obituary of Mario A. Belardino
Mario A. Belardino, a longtime resident of Larchmont and New Rochelle died August 31, 2017.
Mario was born May 5, 1940 in Rome, Italy to Aldo DiBelardino and Constance Tempesta.
At the age of 6, Mario immigrated to NYC. He attended Xavier Military Academy, Boston College, and Georgetown Law School. In 1968 he was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army as a Captain. After leaving the U.S. Army, Mario ran for Congress as a Rep of NYC. In 1972, he built the Cortina Valley Ski Resort in Haines Falls, NY, which he ran until 1988. Following the sale of the Ski Resort, Mario pursued a successful career in the Italian wine importing business until his death. He is survived by his wife Susan, sons David (Janine) Adam (Michelle) and grandchildren Gemma Elise and Christian Philip and his father in law Gerard A. Turtora. He was pre-deceased by his brother Philip in 2014.
