Obituary of James R. Golub

James Robert Golub, of Larchmont, NY, passed away peacefully at home on June 10, 2017 at the age of 88. Dr. Golub was born on July 1, 1928 in New York City to Jacob and Helaine Golub. He was raised in New York City and graduated from Fieldston High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Yale University, his medical degree from Columbia University and completed his residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York. Jim practiced Allergy in his private medical practice in New Rochelle, NY for over 40 years. He served in the United States Coast Guard and volunteered for many years at the Veterans Hospital in Valhalla, NY. Jim was a longtime member of Beach Point Club where he spent most mornings on the tennis courts, and served as Chairman of the Pool, Beach and Bathhouse committee for several years. During lunchtime on Fridays he could be found dining with the ROMEO club. His trustworthiness, intelligence, patience and wise counsel will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Anne, of Larchmont, NY; daughters Jennifer (Steve) and Melissa (Bob), step-sons Michael (Kathy), John (Sandy) and Bill (Pam). He was beloved by his 9 grandchildren: Marina, Layla, James, Nathan (Brandi), Nora, Scott, Jeff, Jane and Christina (Kyle), and his 2 great-grandchildren: Jesper and Deegan. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 14 at Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont, The family will receive friends from 12 PM until 1 PM. The service itself will start at 1PM. The family will be receiving visitors at home following the service until 8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Doctors without Borders.
