Obituary of Theodore R. Smith MD

Theodore R. Smith, M.D., a longtime resident of Larchmont, NY, a well-respected Professor Emeritus at Montefiore Medical Center - Weiler, died on June 1, 2017. Born in the Bronx, NY, to Sam and Goldie Smith, Dr. Smith received his undergraduate degree Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Clark University. He attended SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, interned at Long Island College Hospital and completed his residency in radiology at Jacobi Medical Center. Ted then served for two years as a Captain in the Medical Corps of the U.S. Army. He was a Professor of Radiology at Montefiore Medical Center - Weiler, published many articles in peer-reviewed journals and retired after 48 years in practice. Dr. Smith is survived by his wife of 50 years, Doris-Patt, two sons, Stuart (Lisa) and Glen (Hilary) and five grandchildren, Alexandra, Samantha, Juliana, Maxwell and Winston. Funeral service Sunday 11:00 AM at John J. Fox Funeral Home, Inc. located in Larchmont. Interment at Cedar Park Cemetery, Emerson, NJ. Shiva observed Sunday, 7 to 9pm and Monday through Thursday, 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm at the family home.
