Obituary of Barbara Fitzgerald

Barbara (Israel) Fitzgerald Barbara was born in NYC to Ben and Mary Israel on January 16, 1935, an only child in a loving family of aunts, uncles and loving grandparents. She attended Seward Park High School on the lower east side of Manhattan and remained a lifelong resident of NYC, a proud and true New Yorker. Barbara had a 30 year successful career with Clairol and Bristol Myers Squibb. Barbara was is outstanding mother to her only daughter, Amy, and never wavered in her loving dedication. Barbara never allowed her 4 decade battle with cancer to define her, rather her extraordinary will and determination carried her through and made her even more compassionate toward others. She was a truly special woman, admired and endeared to everyone she met. Barbara is survived by her adoring daughter Amy Fitzgerald, her grandsons Daniel and Mateo Cruz and many wonderful cousins and life-long friends. . A funeral service will be held Sunday 11:00 am at Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont, NY. The family will start receiving friends at the funeral home at 10:30 am. Interment at Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, New York.
