Obituary of William Kapner

Dr. William Kapner, 83, of New Rochelle, passed peacefully on Friday, February 17, 2017. Known as Bill to his family and friends, Dr. Kapner was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, and attended Cornell University and New York University College of Dentistry. He moved to Scarsdale in 1971, and was a periodontist in private practice in New Rochelle for 45 years. A lifelong lover of classical music, Bill also enjoyed vacationing with his family, swimming, playing golf and discussing science, politics, and history. Bill never met a cookie he didn't like, and relished the cringing laughs of his family in response to the bad puns and corny jokes he often told. Bill is survived by his wife of 51 years, Deborah Kapner; his three children, Suzanne, Michael, and Marc Kapner; siblings Bonnie and Jack Kapner; son-in-law Michael Rosen; daughters-in-law Brenda and Hallie Kapner, and grandchildren, Emily, Elliot, and Larson Kapner. Private funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 19, 2017. Shiva will be held Monday - Wednesday at the home of Deborah Kapner between 6 - 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
