Obituary of Patrick Joseph Buckley
Patrick Joseph Buckley On February 3rd, 2017, Pat passed away at White Plains Hospital after a prolonged battle with cancer. He left this world surrounded by family, friends, and the music he loved.
Born in the Bronx, New York, in 1943, he was the oldest child of Jack and Mary Buckley. The family moved to the village of Larchmont when he was 8. The village would remain his beloved home for over 60 years.
He was a graduate of St. Augustine's grammar school, The Storm King School, and Pace University. After serving in the Navy he began his career at New York Telephone and continued working in the industry for over 41 years.
He was an active parishioner at St. Augustine's Church in Larchmont, where he founded its now thriving CYO basketball program.
An always enthusiast coach, coworker, tennis partner, and all-around-character, he will be remembered for his bellowing laugh, his provocative dance moves, and his undying devotion to his large family and even larger group of friends.
He is survived in life by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Virginia (O'Donnell), his three daughters, Kate, Kerry, and Christine, his son Patrick, his sons-in-law Christian Bennett and Brad Flaster, his daughter-in-law Meredith Bogonovich, his treasured grandchildren, Sophie Major, William and Daschle Bennett, and Jackson and Riley Flaster, as well as his sister Mary Alice Roberts, his brother John Buckley, and countless nieces, nephews, and cousins both in the United States and his ancestral Ireland.
Visiting will be Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the John J. Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont. Mass Friday 11:00 AM at St. Augustine Church . donations to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
