Obituary of Adrienne Albee Fousek
Adrienne Albee Fousek, a longtime resident of Larchmont, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 10, 2016. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on August 21, 1924, daughter of the late Howard Doane Albee and Lillian Caisse Albee, Adrienne was the beloved wife of the late Peter Fousek, loving mother to Kendall, John and Christopher (Martha) and adoring Grandmother to Davies, Liam, Peter, Landon and Katherine. Devoted Aunt to Alex (Mark), Vicky (David) and Tony (Charlotte) and doting Great Aunt to Kylie, Chris, Brian, Alec, Paul, Isabel, Eleanor, Magnus and Amelia. Adrienne graduated from Newton High School and Radcliffe College. She received her Masters in Economics from Columbia University. She worked as an economist at The Federal Reserve Bank of New York and Bankers Trust Company NY. She was close to completion of her Ph.D. in Philosophy from Columbia University when her focus became tending to her young family.
An outspoken advocate for the rights of others, Adrienne was active in the Mamaroneck School Community, The League of Women Voters and The Woman's Club; and a parishioner of St. Augustine's Church and a longtime member of the Larchmont Shore Club. She was a committed supporter of her husband's work on The Larchmont-Mamaroneck Human Rights Commission.
Friends and family will gather Saturday, December 17th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at John J. Fox Funeral Home. Mass will be held Monday, December 19th at St. Joseph's in Lincoln, Massachusetts. Private burial to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations in Adrienne's memory may be made to the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Studies at Harvard University and Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen in NYC.
