How I miss David! His wonderful acrostic poems, always infused with social justice, his wonderful smile, complete lack of bitterness, the pastor making his rounds on a bicycle, his unflagging witness for LGBTQ rights. David was the rare person who could be militant without being angry. He knew the secret of happiness! Praise God for David and his daughters!

My dear friend Dave. You hold a special place in my heart. I will miss our long talks about just about anything including the proper way to make a root-beer float. Milk , ice cream then root beer. I so enjoyed our walks around Wesley. When I first met you I mentioned how walking was just what the doctor ordered for me. My ankle would get stronger. That day you took my hand in friendship. Thank you for being you and most of all for letting me be part of your life. God Bless the Parker family thank you Kate, Julie and Valerie for allowing me to be a part of your dads life. Your dad was delightful he was full of energy, music and laughter. I will always remember those gifts when I think of him. God Bless you all.

David ... Witty, unique, charming, intelligent, talented, quick witted, a true gentleman, and a very proud father. Julie, Katie and Valerie - you were lucky to have him as your father.

DEVOTED to his family and to Justice, ALWAYS ready to write a hymn or poem VOTING was his civic and religious commitment INDEFATIGABLE - that says it all! DILIGENT in visiting from house to house - on his bicycle! PROUD, PETTY, PARSIMONIOUS - none apply! ACTIVE "Never stay in one place longer than necessary" - John Wesley RETIRING - only under duress! KIND - to a fault if that's possible! ENTHUSIASTIC about Everything!! REVOLUTIONARY for justice and mercy
