Obituary of Syrilda Carribine Helgren

Syrilda Carribine Helgren, a lifelong resident of Larchmont passed away on December 16, 2015. She was 100 years old. She was born in Brooklyn and moved to Larchmont in 1918 as a small child. Syrilda graduated from Mamaroneck High School later, she received a bachelors degree from Cortland College. She married Dr, Robert E. Helgren at her family home in 1940. She was president of The Larchmont Woman's Club from 1970-1972. She was a master swimmer and Senior Olympian. Her Hobbies included needlepoint, swimming, dancing and family. She is survived by husband of 75 years, her daughter Terry Rainaldi and son David Helgren. Also survived by four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services are private.
