Obituary of James W. Lynch

James W. Lynch, longtime resident of New Rochelle passed away at home with his family around him on September 28, 2015, at the age of 85. Born in Brooklyn to James and Helen Henderson Lynch. He was predeceased by sisters Muriel Lynch, Helen McWilliams, and brothers Dr. Richard Lynch, Dr. William Lynch and Brian Lynch. He served his country in combat (U.S.M.C., 1st Division) during the Korean War from 1950-1953 earning the rank of Sergeant. After the war, he attended St. John's University, graduating in 1958 with a B.A. in Accounting. Jim met and married Margaret Raftery of the Bronx on January 18, 1958. He was a financial executive at Corning Glass Works in Corning, NY until 1971, when he relocated the family to New Rochelle, serving as president of Salton, Inc. He was a life-long and ardent fan of the New York Yankees. He is survived by his loving wife Margaret of 57 years, his adoring children James Lynch (Silje), William Lynch, John Lynch, Peggy Marchini (Steve), and Kathleen Anthony (Lewis). Devoted grandfather of Peter, Meghan, Jack, Erin, Olivia, Lewis, Catherine, Bridget, Elinor, Matthew, Linus, Jennifer, Jacqueline, and Lily. Visitation will be Sunday, October 4th 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, October 5th 10:00 am at Sts. John & Paul Roman Catholic Church. The Interment service will be private.
