Dear Joan and Family; June 8, 2015 It’s with great sorrow and an extraordinary feeling of loss when we learned recently of the passing of our long time friend and supporter, Alan Thompson. Linda and I will always remember the 60’s with our meetings of the dialog group with the Catholic church, especially at your home. Those we good times for all of us. I still remember Alan’s first question to Father Henry Mansell, ‘Do you still hand out points for converting Protestants‘. I followed telling everyone that my mother did not let me play with Catholics. Both of us always attempted to generated fun and excitement. As it always happens, we tend to move on in our lifetimes with college, marriage, work, and family and lose track of those we actually spent time with in our early years. But somehow and somewhere the memories of those early years have an unusual tendency to stick within the mind and heart. Therefore we give thanks for our lasting friendship and the exceptional times we experienced with him and praise those opportunities we had together. May God in his infinite wisdom take guardianship for our departed buddy, Alan. To Joan, Jim, John and Janet, we offer our sincere sympathy and compassion to you for your loss. We know that he was a first-class husband and a caring father and in the end was sometimes unable to express his love and admiration for all of you. God Bless. With Love and Affection, Linda and Richard Coulter
