Obituary of Barbara Klein

Barbara Klein, 78, of New Rochelle passed away on February 2, 2015. She was predeceased by her parents, Ruth and Max Gellert, and her sister Violet Aaronson. She is survived by her eldest son, Gary, and his wife Betsy Schreuer; her daughter Alisa, and her partner Amy Stamm; and her son Andrew. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Daniel, Benjamin, Lydia, Rachel, and Joshua Klein, and many beloved friends. Barbara grew up in Parkchester in the Bronx and received a Bachelor's Degree from Hunter College. Barbara worked as a grade school teacher until she had children of her own. She loved nothing more than cooking for her family and friends, and was known for her talent as a gourmet chef and creative party planner. Barbara was an active and much-loved member of her retirement community, Garito Manor, as well as Larchmont Temple where she was a congregant and volunteer for over four decades. Her outgoing nature and extraordinary good humor will be missed by friends and family. A memorial service for Barbara will be held at Larchmont Temple on Sunday, February 22nd at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of America.
