I was on the web, free floating and checking out friends from the past. To my shock I discovered that my former psychiatrist Mark had passed away. I immediately shed a private tear, and then started remembering my past medical history with Mark. I first started seeing him while he was practicing in Westfield, NJ Then I followed him to the City for another year of consultations. When I worked with Mark he was a brand new doctor, but I could tell right away that he had excellent "bedside manner." Some of my issues were very complex and Mark knew I was a difficult patient. To his credit he worked with me to tackle my issues, and help bring to a much calmer baseline.
What I loved most about Mark was his humble demeanor. Yes, he was U Penn grad, and a medical doctor, but Mark was mostly very nice... just a really good person.
I am sad to learn of his passing, but I know he sleeps with angels, because he was an angel himself.
