Among all of the supportive women at Curves, there was a standout.
Barbara Ritter.
A hug before a workout and blowing a kiss goodbye were her specialty.
She asked genuinely and warmly about your weekend, about your family, about any challenges you might be facing, about the happy occasions.
Her sensitivity and level of caring were extraordinary.
And she was strong.
Many times as she worked out I watched in awe.
And her strength of body was exceeded only by her strength of heart and mind.
In her courageous battle, she continued to work and didn't miss a beat.
Deeply devout, she never despaired and never lost heart.
She trusted in God and it's easy to understand why He wanted her with Him.
All those who were blessed to have Barbara in their lives know that her spirit,
her sense of humor, her patience, her positive outlook and her bright smile
will never fade from our memories.
