Allison B. Hirschfeld (née Klugman ), born July 22, 1931, died August 30, 2014, surrounded by her family. Beloved mother of Susan, Linda and Barbara, grandmother of Matthew, mother-in-law of Nicholas and Elliot, and dear sister of Eleanor. Avid golfer, lover of the arts, Allison was dedicated to charitable causes. Her sense of humor, generosity, thirst for learning and adventure, and indomitable independent spirit will long be remembered. At once a prankster and disciplinarian, sensible and generous, she was above all a proud mother and reliable friend. Burial private. Family will receive friends on September 2, between 4 and 7 pm at Indian Cove. Donations to The Alzheimer's Association will be greatly appreciated.
