Obituary of James R. Walsh

James R. (Bud) Walsh a longtime resident of Larchmont passed away July 26, 2014 at age 90. He was born to John and Mary (nee Hand) in New York City. He graduated from Mamaroneck High School, class of 1941. He served as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps during the Second World War in Europe. In 1950, he married Beatrice Grube in Larchmont where they settled and raised five children. He was the long time Postmaster in Larchmont and the former chief of the Larchmont Volunteer Fire Department. In addition, he was an active member of the Larchmont-Mamaroneck Old Timers Athletic Association and the American Legion. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Beatrice, and loving children, Susan Szyikowski, James (Debra), Steve (Marianne), Jeff (Kate) and Beth. Also survived by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Thursday 2-4 and 6-9 PM at the John J. Fox Funeral Home in Larchmont.
